How to succeed in everything by failing successfully

How often do we feel that we could have done something better or in fact what we’ve done has turned out all wrong? Don’t worry, I’m going to share with you how you can fail successfully.

After achieving my goal of quitting my nine to five office day job and starting my own online business I’ve learned that failure happens a lot and sometimes it even happens too much for us to deal with. When I started marketing first I tried all kinds of different strategies and most failed miserably.

Some would say that I should have stuck with those strategies and made them work. I do believe that’s possible and hope to some day revisit them but when starting out in business keeping motivation high is even more important than the amount of money being made. How to succeed in everything isn’t about being perfect it’s about doing your best.

Unfortunately the money was my motivation, it was the only true short term measure of how I was doing in my business. So the gurus might say don’t focus on the money and they might be right but I think when starting out in business there is no better motivator and sign of progress.

Everybody fails, in the small and large things in life. As far as I can tell those who succeed simply keep going when failure strikes and the truly great ones among us use the failure to their advantage.

Fear of failure is really one of the main things keeping our successes from us, we believe that if we fail then we’ve not succeeded in our goals. No, the person who succeeds in life has lots of failures but they keep going.

When Henry Ford asked his team to build the first single block eight cylinder engine they said it wasn’t possible but he told them to keep trying. For years them came to him and said it’s not possible and he told them keep trying until one day they did it and revolutionised the car industry.

How to succeed in everything

Failure is a temporary state. Failure is only failure if it stops us from reaching our goals.

We often learn much more from a failure than an immediate success, when I first started out in online business I was often told horror stories about people years ago who build up a business based on one thing that worked for them and just stuck with it and then within the space of a few months their profits went to zero because of a change in technology, society or a competitor. It’s not enough to know what buttons to click, you need to know why!

Failure helps us learn and perfect and as I said it don’t become failure until we let the step back stop us from reaching our goal.
The fact is that successful people try more things, more often than average people do. Whether that’s in playing sports, building an international six figure business, or in their relationships, if you try enough things, you’re going to succeed a lot. And if you don’t try anything, you are virtually guaranteed to fail.

You may have heard the old saying “Failure to Plan is Planning to Fail” I live by this plan but backwards “Planning to Fail is Failure to Plan”.

When taking a test or starting a new marketing campaign don’t think to yourself this has to work or I’ve failed. Instead think to yourself if this doesn’t work I’m going to keep doing it until it does work. Think like Henry Ford.
